Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas, everyone! Thank you to new and old readers alike for your continued interest in my blogs; more than anything else it is your reading my posts that makes blogging worth while. Of note, I also recently reactivated an oldish Flickr account and I have enjoyed tremendously taking photographs, posting them and connecting with all you awesome people in the Flickr community. So thank you for the likes and comments and thanks also for the inspiring photographs you all share. I spent this Christmas Eve morning hanging out with my dear friend Igor and I wouldn’t would have wanted to spend this morning any other way. He took a great Christmas photograph of us for this post and also a lovely new photograph for my profile. Thank you, Igor, you are one of the sweetest men I know (and, yes, I know I am totally cramping his style when I say that)! Now I’m off to wrap a few last gifts and will then settle in for the holidays! ♥

Blue Hour

I took some new photographs that I added to the exhibit space Berg by Nordan Art today. The seven photographs were inspired by the evening hour. I have toyed with the thought of taking nude photographs for a while, but never really felt ready. So tonight, listening to Miles Davis, loaded with Del May Poses, the [TOR] Dusk-Blue Hour windlight and a naked avatar, I was finally inspired and got to work. While the resulting photographs lack shadows and have not been worked on in PS, I still find them dark and somehow appealing. Hope you like them too. The Blue Hour exhibit will be up until April 2015 when Piedra Lubitsch will show her work, followed by Harbor Galaxy from July to September 2015.

Addendum: I am happy to report that Tutsy Navarathna has agreed to show his work at Berg by Nordan Art until the end of March 2015. My Blue Hour exhibit has relocated to the Chelsea Hotel Gallery.

UWA 3D Art and Machinima Grand Finale today

The University of Western Australia (UWA) announced today at the BOSL Grand Amphitheater the winners of  the two the Transcending Borders challenges, the 5th UWA Grand Art Challenge and the MachinimUWA VII. There is more than L$ 1,000,000 in award money and as usual at these UWA challenge winner presentations spirits were high. Please check out the The University of Western Australia (UWA) in Second Life website for more information and to find out about the winners of both UWA challenges. Congratulation to all the winners and thank you to Jayjay Zifanwe and UWA for your continued support of art in Second Life©.

ADDENDUM: I was just informed that Tutsy Navarathna is the winner of the MachinimUWA VII. Here is my post on his contribution: Metaphore by Tutsy Navarathna

Yesterday on Winter on Nordan om Jorden we tried out the new sled that was released by {what next} a few days ago and had such a blast. One, two or three people can use one sled and they are super easy to maneuver. Part of why I left wide open spaces on Nordan om Jorden was exactly for this reason; it is really easy to move around on a sled, alone or in a group. The sleds are available at the landing point. Make sure to open all three gates in the enclosed area when you first teleport in, that will make it easier to sled around all over the landscape without obstruction. Have fun!

The Dreamiest Winter

One of my favorite winter places this year is without doubt the sim Pure Dreams, which contains the {vespertine} mainstore, both are by the talented Amelie Knelstrom. The landscape is utterly lovely and one is soon overcome by an atmosphere of dreamy winter. The beautiful store itself offers an abundance of well-crafted sweet and whimsical design items for sale (I got a few things that I already put on Winter on Nordan om Jorden, head over and see if you can find them!). There are also two additional separate buildings, one with {vespertine} builds for sale and the other a pretty little cafe. Finally, Miss Knelstrom’s generous contribution to the latest Fifty Linden Fridays round are the Firefly Wreath and the Northern Sky Apartment, both gorgeous and obviously total a steal for L$50. Head over to Pure Dreams and {vespertine} where there is so much to see and enjoy.

Winter 2014: Contemplating a Shot

Is it me or are the regularly scheduled design events, like Arcade, Chapter Four and Collabor88, getting harder and harder to teleport into? Maybe it is just because of the holidays, who knows. Anyway, I finally found a way in and picked up some lovely winter stuff at all of them now have lots of choices for bundling up. I love the little bunny earmuffs on the tucked in hair, something I would probably wear outside of Second Life© as well! I shot the photo above on Winter on Nordan om Jorden again and just to share some exciting news: Winter on Nordan om Jorden made the Second Life Destination Guide! Whoohoo! Silly to get totally excited about something like that, I know, but what can I say, it made my day!

I finally found time to head over to Frisland today. So much has already been written about this winter landscape and many, very many, photos have been taken. Now I understand why! It it such a joy exploring the place since there are little hidden gems all over. One can tell that much care, thought and planning must have been put into creating this very sweet and lovely environment. The attention to detail is quite remarkable, both inside the buildings and all over the landscape that surrounds them. Bravo, and thank you to the creators, Charlie Namiboo, Annabell Barzane and Frislanda Ferraris, for sharing this beautiful space with all of us. ♥

Introducing Floodwood Drive

Floodwood Office_009

I am happy to report that effective immediately I will be offering six rental spaces on Floodwood Drive located on the sim Nordan om Jorden. Each little lot is completely private and contains an unfurnished Floodwood skybox designed by Van Auster of POST. Rental prices range from L$622 to L$1342 per week and prim count ranges from 249 to 537 prims per lot (skybox is included). Please contact me directly if you are interested to rent or simply want to check out one of the spaces to see if you like it, either inworld via IM or notecard or via email at I usually respond within 24 hours.

ADDENDUM: I closed the Floodwood Drive rental business on 12/26/14. It is just too much work in terms of promoting and maintaining and I have more use for the prims elsewhere. Maybe another time! 🙂

Ziki Questi, again!

I was just about to publish my last blog post about the opening of the joint exhibit by Sabbian Paine and Ziki Questi and call it a night when I got an IM from the Lollygagger Art Center director, Chrissssy. She inquired if I would visit the gallery and post something about the next exhibit at Lollygagger. Turns out, it is Ziki Questi, again! So of course I headed over to the Lollygagger Art Center to take a little peek. There are lovely Second Life© landscape photographs by Ziki to be seen in this gallery. I particularly like the one above; the colors are beautifully captured. But please make sure to head over for yourself and take a look! The opening is tomorrow at 2 PM SLT.  Ziki’s photographs will be on display until the end of January 2015.
